Data

SkyLogger offers possibilities to save, to visualize and to process a wide range of data types. Depending on the type of data they can either be manually entered and/or downloaded from various data sources. Currently the following data types are being supported:

• Airspaces
• Climb rate traces
• Flights
• Hotspots
• Maps
• Routes
• Thermal overviews
• Waypoints
• Weather data

Some of these data are shown in tabular form. Then, they can mostly be manually entered or modified. Examples for these data types are flights and waypoints. Other data types can only be graphically visualized. Under this category fall maps as well as hotspots.

Furthermore, often the possibility exists to save the data on the iPad or iPhone. Then, the data are always available, independent if a connection to the internet exists or not.

If data are shown in tabular form filters are available that allow efficient searching in large datasets. To mention an example: flights can be searched in specified time frames as well as by the name of the pilot.
