SkyLogger keeps internally its data in a special database. To be able to exchange the internal data with other programs or data sources these data will be converted beforehand.

For the data exchange SkyLogger offers various possibilities (see also for example the description of the file mode accessible from the page flights). In this section the data exchange using the document folder will be described in detail.

All apps have internally a so called document folder. SkyLogger gives access rights to this folder to allow the file transfer to and from other computers by using the Finder or Windows Explorer respectively.

When having copied files from a computer in the document folder of SkyLogger, the copied files are shown on the relevant pages on the iPad or iPhone. From there, the data of the files can be imported into the database.

Having copied the data into the database the files can, but do not have to, be deleted. The deletion can be done by SkyLogger, the Finder or the Windows Explorer.
