SensBox

The SensBox from FlyTec, Bräuniger respectively, determines the barometric pressure and height, position as well as acceleration data.

The SensBox uses the 4.0 LE Bluetooth interface for the communication with the iPad or iPhone. If SkyLogger finds after the start of the app a SensBox device, a communication will be automatically initiated. If the SensBox is switched on after the start of SkyLogger, the communication has to be established via the settings page for accessories. Touching "search" is starting a search process for SensBoxes and will establish a communication.

As the SensBox delivers altitude data in short time intervals SkyLogger can be regarded together with its built-in climb rate acoustics as a fully functional variometer!

The barometric height can be automatically calibrated by the height provided by the GPS receiver or can be entered manually at any time by touching the shown height value. Furthermore, an automatic barometric height calibration can be performed using SensBox's internal calibration method (see the SensBox user manual for further information).

To prevent device dependent height variations, different filters can be set. But as the SensBox uses already internally filters, it is in general not necessary to use these external filters. These external filters can lead to a slower response time of the altitude determination and to lower altitude peak values!

The IGC data files that are stored in the SensBox can be transferred to the iPad or iPhone into SkyLoggerXXL's database. The transfer can be initiated from the flight page when being in file mode.
